7 Card Stud Poker

7 Card Stud Poker is one of the most popular versions of poker today. Stud poker family also includes 6 Card Stud Poker, Razz Poker, 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo, Mississippi Stud and all that jazz.

What are its rules?

Before the deal all the gamblers make the “ante” bet that is an initial bet made in the beginning of every game. After the ante each gambler gets 3 cards – one of them is face up while two others are face down. A participant with the weakest card must make an additional bet that is half of the initial bet in size. Another casino version of 7 Card Stud Poker implies the participant to make a bet is determined by suit seniority: clubs, hearts, diamonds and spades.

Limit 7 Card Stud Poker is more widespread in online poker rooms. There the first two rounds bets are minimum ones, while the third, fourth and fifth round bets are equal to the maximum game bet.

Second bet round. Each active (gambler is dealt one additional face-up card that is called “Fourth Street”. The player with the strongest cards hand starts the betting. He has the opportunity to make a “check”, usual, minimal bet or fold.

The third round of betting. Each active gambler is dealt one more face-up card called “Fifth Street”. Next the betting time starts.
The fourth round of betting. Each active player is dealt one more face up card that is called “Sixth Street”. Then betting with the maximal rates continues.

The fifth round of betting. Active player is dealt one more additional face up card which is a so-called “Seventh Street” or “River”. It is the latest round of betting with the maximal stakes.

The first to open his cards is the gambler that has made the last bet.
